MEDIA CAREERS
CAREERS - FILM, TELEVISION, THE MEDIA
Hurtwood Film Academy (HFA) assists Academy Members with their choice of careers, Film and University applications and practice interviews.

HFA also looks to create an on-going community of HFA alumni, who keep in touch, support each other and can also ask the tutors or former HFA colleagues for advice etc. when they have formally left us.
Within this section are PDF files to download on:
This file includes a section on Writing a Personal Statement also
We would urge you to read the MEDIA SECTION of the GUARDIAN on a regular basis, it comes out every Monday. While BROADCAST magazine is also interesting if you are a would-be producer or director, and comes out weekly.
Whether writing your first CV in order to get Work Experience, writing your first CV is quite an Art. We would suggest visiting the Skillset website which has very useful advice on CV Writing at http://www.skillset.org/uploads/pdf/asset_4807.pdf?4
Another useful site is http://www.successfulcvs.com which has much information about Good and Bad CVs on it for free also.
"One of the best bits about HFA is that you know they are always there and
will respond to you almost instantly
- the tutors and other guys who were in it with us.
"Kind of bonding I suppose, under fire together sort of thing."
(Tiff, HFA 2007. Bournemouth Arts Institute.)
